About Powerball
Powerball is a multi-state lottery game played in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands. Drawings take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 PM Eastern Time.
To play Powerball, select five numbers from 1 to 69 for the white balls, and one number from 1 to 26 for the red Powerball. The jackpot starts at $20 million and grows until someone wins. The overall odds of winning any Powerball prize are approximately 1 in 24.87.
Powerball Power Play
For an additional $1 per play, the Power Play option can multiply non-jackpot prizes by 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, or 10x (when the jackpot is $150 million or less). The Match 5 prize is automatically doubled to $2,000,000 with Power Play.
How to Claim Powerball Prizes
Prizes of $600 or more must be claimed at your state lottery office. Prize claim deadlines vary by state, typically ranging from 90 days to one year after the drawing. Jackpot winners can choose between a lump-sum cash payment (approximately 55% of the advertised jackpot) or an annuity paid in 30 graduated payments over 29 years.
Powerball Number Frequency
Our number frequency analysis shows which Powerball numbers have been drawn most and least often throughout the game's history. While every number has an equal probability of being drawn, many players find it interesting to see statistical patterns. Use our hot, cold, and overdue number analysis above to explore the data.
